For a day that combines fun and education, you cannot miss a visit to Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium! Gardaland Sea Life is the aquarium that is part of Gardaland Resort, the complex created around Italy’s most famous amusement park.
Through numerous themed tanks, Gardaland Sea Life allows visitors to discover the flora and fauna that characterises the waters of our planet. Here you can learn more about many of the marine ecosystems and admire some 5000 specimens belonging to about 100 different species.
The structure of the aquarium and the well-designed itinerary inside it, which allows the most scientific aspect to be combined with the recreational one, make Gardaland Sea Life a place devoted to “edutainment”, i.e. educating while having fun. Because of this particular inclination, Gardaland Sea Life is suitable for both adults and children.
Gardaland Sea Life is an aquarium that through 40 themed tanks allows visitors to learn more about the different biosystems that characterise the earth’s fresh and salt waters. Starting from nearby Lake Garda, numerous rivers, the main seas and the oceans are explored. The presence of interactive panels and children’s games makes it possible not only to learn more about flora and fauna but also to be informed about the main problems of the marine world.
Among the most popular species that can be admired here are seahorses, starfish, napoleon fish and sharks. Don’t miss a walk under the impressive tunnel, the new ‘Interactive Ocean’ room and a visit to the sea lions. At the interactive rock pools you can find a real shark egg and see starfish up close. Under the tunnel, which is a truly breathtaking structure, it is possible to observe not only several specimens of sharks but also the leopard-tailed stingray, the giant grouper and several stingrays.
The visit also deals with the whole marine pollution awareness part of the tour and explains some of the activities implemented to preserve and protect the flora and fauna of this planet. In order to protect lakes and seas, various activities are organised, such as the Lake Garda shoreline cleaning day carried out in collaboration with the Municipality and the Civil Protection of Castelnuovo del Garda.
The Gardaland Sea Life site also includes the aquarium cinema, an information point, the Covo del Capitano bar and restaurant, a green area that includes a children’s playground and a picnic area.
To access Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium it is not necessary to have purchased a ticket for Gardaland Park, which means you can access the aquarium independently and separately.

There is, however, a combined ticket that allows you to enter the Gardaland Park and the Aquarium at a truly special price. The ticket allows you to visit the two sites even on two different days.
What we recommend is to buy the ticket online because this is not only cheaper but also saves time and avoids queues at the ticket offices!
If you want to complete your visit to Gardaland, you can stay at one of the three official hotels (Gardaland Hotel, Gardaland Adventure Hotel and Gardaland Magic Hotel) located near the entrance to Gardaland Resort. These are all 4-star facilities boasting both standard and themed rooms. From the hotels it is then possible to walk a few metres to the entrance of the Park or take advantage of the convenient shuttle service.
Alternatively, it is possible to stay in facilities in nearby locations. Since Gardaland is located in the area of Lake Garda, which has always been a popular destination, there is a great deal of accommodation available. Here, in fact, it is not difficult to find different types of facilities at different price ranges. You can look for solutions in the municipality of Castelnuovo del Garda (the park’s municipality) or in nearby towns such as Lazise or Peschiera del Garda.
Being located inside the Gardaland Resort, Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium can be easily reached by car or by public transport. Those travelling by car along the A4 can use the Peschiera del Garda or Sommacampagna motorway exits, which are just a few kilometres from the park entrance. Those travelling from the north along the A2, on the other hand, should exit at Affi and then follow the signs for Peschiera del Garda and Gardaland Resort.
The site is also well served by public transport. The Peschiera del Garda railway station, served by regional, intercity and high-speed trains, is about 2 km from the park and is connected by a shuttle bus leaving every 30 minutes. Local bus companies have direct connections to Peschiera del Garda or the park from various locations in northern Italy. Alternatively, for those who live further away, there are also long-distance bus routes such as those provided by the company Flixbus.
The nearest airports are Verona, which is 22 km away, and Brescia, which is 40 km away. About 100 km away is Bergamo-Orio al Serio, which is well connected to various cities in Italy and Europe, also thanks to the numerous low-cost airlines that fly here.
Inside Gardaland Resort it is then possible to reach Sea Life with a short walk or by means of a nice little train provided by the park.
