Verona Airport

The airport of Verona Valerio Catullo (IATA code: VRN) is the reference airport for western Veneto and part of south-eastern Lombardy, an area in which important production facilities are concentrated. It is also the closest airport to some of the most important ski resorts in Trentino Alto Adige.

Valerio Catullo Airport is located between the municipalities of Villafranca Veronese and Sommacampagna, at a distance of about 12 km from the centre of Verona. From here you can easily reach numerous locations by car or public transport.

Bus

The centre of Verona can be reached by car from the airport in less than twenty minutes. If you prefer to use public transport, you can take the Airlink, an express bus of the local transport company ATV, which connects the airport to the Verona Porta Nuova railway station in just 15 minutes, without intermediate stops.

The airport is located at the junction of the A4 and the A22, two strategic communication routes that guarantee fast car connections in northern Italy along the west-east and north-south axis.

The recommended exit points are Sommacampagna for those coming from Brescia and Verona Nord for those coming from Venice, Mantua and Trento. Calculate about 90 minutes from/to Venice or Bologna, 100 from Milan, 60 from Padua and Trento.

The location that can be reached most easily from the airport by public transport is Lake Garda. There is a year-round bus service to the main resorts on the Veneto shore, including Peschiera, Lazise and Bardolino. With the same bus it is possible to reach the Gardaland amusement park. The journey time from the airport to Garda, the last stop, is one hour and ten minutes.

During the winter months only, the Fly Ski Shuttle, an express bus that connects the airport to the main ski resorts in Trentino, operates. It only operates on Saturdays and Sundays and it is necessary to buy the ticket online by Friday.

Direct connections to other resorts do not exist, but it is sufficient to reach the centre of Verona to be able to move quickly in many directions. In particular, you can easily reach other locations in the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige by taking advantage of the convenient combined train+bus tickets offered by Trenitalia and the German and Austrian railways (DB and ÖBB).

There are also long-distance buses of private companies departing from the centre of Verona that make it possible to reach numerous destinations in northern Italy without changes; with just one change you can reach Slovenia, Croatia and Germany.
